About One World Goods

One World Goods is a fair trade gift shop that sells finely crafted gifts, jewelry, and home decor from around the world.  

Your purchase creates jobs with dignity for global artisans so they may provide food, shelter, health care and education for their families. 

OUR MISSION
The mission of One World Goods is to enhance the social and economic conditions of artisans in need around the world through fair trade by providing a marketplace for their products and increasing awareness of global poverty and economic injustice.

HISTORY

1987   A small group of churchwomen with a desire to aid artisans living in impoverished areas of the world organized sales of fair trade goods at local churches and schools.  Merchandise was stored at a local home and carted to sales in their cars.  Initial monetary assistance and support came from the Greater Rochester Community of Churches.

1991   Successful sales warranted the establishment of a permanent store in a small mall in Fairport, NY. 

1994   One World Goods was established as a not-for-profit 501-C-3

corporation in the State of New York with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. 

1997  One World Goods moved to its current location in Pittsford Plaza.  In its first full year in the plaza, sales increased by 95% over those in the former location. 

2007  The store was completely renovated.

OUR ORGANIZATION

• One World Goods is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors.
• We are a not-for-profit 501-C-3 corporation.
• Our paid staff consists of one full-time manager, three part-time assistant managers, and one part-time display coordinator.
• Over 90 volunteers give their time and talents to assist customers on the sales floor, serve on the Board of Directors, and share their expertise on various committees.

M -Th 10 am–6 pm
F- Sat 10 am–9 pm
Sun 12 pm–5 pm

The store is closed on these holidays: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
Store hours vary during the holidays.  The day before major holidays (i.e., Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve) the store is open 10 am–4 pm.

SPEAKERS BUREAU
